A lot of DRR members will be attending the National Running Show held at the NEC this weekend. Why not come along to the closest parkrun to the show, before hand? Or even if you are not attending the show, please come and join us for a fairly flat, completely paved, and therefore fast/easy tourist parkrun event.
Parking: There is a large free, unlimited use car park by the Swan Shopping Centre across the road from the Recreation Ground. Swan Shopping Centre have granted parkrunners permission to use the car park, but ask that people avoid parking directly in front of the main entrance. We would recommend that you park alongside the right hand side of the car park. Please note that this is an extremely busy road, and we recommend that you use the pedestrian crossing at the one end to cross. Post Code: B25 8UJ
Toilets: Located in shopping centre by the car park. About 600 metres away from the start line.
If you have a club shirt please wear this, and we will do a group photo at 8.45am.
As normal we will cheer all club members home, and if your still energetic after your run, it would be nice to run back and support others.
Course Description: Three laps along tarmac paths including the finish, with the finish funnel being along the grass. The course briefing takes part on the middle path near the finish area and the start is by the large grass mound towards the end of the recreation ground which is clearly visible from all entrances to the park. The course is particularly suitable for people taking part with pushchairs and wheelchair users, as it is on tarmac paths.
Surface: 100% Tarmac hard path.
Food after: N/A, will let people shoot off to get to the running show.
