Out & Back

A Bridge Too Far….

(Twenty Two Twenty)

Format:

*Runners will complete an Out & Back route, with a couple of hills for good measure.

*Everyone runs for 22 mins and stops for two mins rest. (stretches) 

Runners then return along the same route, the aim is to get back in 20 mins.

Purpose / Benefits 

  • Session suits all abilities, faster runners will go further so can chase down the group on the way back.
  • Slower runners won’t go as far, they can try and beat the faster runners on the way back as they get a headstart.
  • This run can be done once a month to test fitness / improvement.
  • Teaches runners how to negative split, also develops a strong / faster finish when legs are tired
  • Runners can record distance achieved on the 22, then try and go further each month and still get back in 20.
  • Every runner who over takes on the way back has to say something motivational to anyone they pass.

RV. Start & Finish

  • Icon centre: 18:30hrs.
  • Quick warm-up.
  • Run start 18:40 & 18:45hrs.
  • Run finish 19:40hrs.
  • Quick warm-down.

Administration 

  • Wet weather clothing.
  • Running Torches.
  • Bright clothing.
  • Smile faces plenty of moral.
