Sat 22nd Feb - University of Northampton parkrun
Why not come along to experience a fabulous parkrun in Northampton, with other club members from Daventry Road Runners. The majority of the this course is situated in Becket's park, however the start and finish is in the University campus. Despite having an incline (hill) in the park, which you have to complete 3 times, the course is still pretty quick/easy thanks to the hard and smooth surface. One of the biggest perks of this course, particularly at this time of year, is that the Senate building with toilet facilitates, is only metres from the start and finish. This is normally nice and warm, allowing you to shelter from the elements before and after your running.
Parking: The closest car park is Midsummer Meadows Car Park (NN1 5NG), 5 minutes walk to the start. This is pay and display, but gives you 2 hours free parking at weekends, though you still need to take and display a ticket.
Toilets: Are available in the Senate building by the start area.
If you have a club shirt please wear this, and we will do a group photo at 8.45am, near the start line.
As normal we will cheer all club members home, and if your still energetic after your run, it would be nice to run back and support others.
Course Description: The Course starts by the Senate building to the rear of the University Campus, goes through the campus then over the footbridge to Becket's Park for 3 clockwise laps of the park. Returning over the footbridge, the course loops around the Senate building then finishes on the grass area.
Surface: 100% Tarmac hard path.
Food after: We will be heading to the Hungry Horse, Sixfields (Sixfields Leisure, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England, NN5 5QL) afterwards for breakfast, for those that want to join us.
